After his second selection for the German national team, and ahead of the first competitive game at the Europa-Park Stadion against RB Leipzig this Saturday (15:30 CEST), central defender Nico Schlotterbeck spoke to us in the interview of the week.

SC Freiburg moved into the Europa-Park Stadion in style with a win on Thursday evening. In a friendly against FC St. Pauli, SC were the 3-0 victors, with Vincenzo Grifo scoring the first-ever goals at our new stadium and Nishan Burkart adding a third.

The finishing touches are still being put on the Europa-Park Stadion, but come Thursday evening, our team will move into its new home for the very first time. SC Freiburg will host FC St. Pauli in a friendly to celebrate the move and open the stadium, with kick-off at 18:15 CEST.

SC Freiburg remain undefeated thanks to goals from Phillip Lienhart (17’) and Nils Petersen (78’) which secured an away victory over Hertha BSC. Their goals came either side of a Krzysztof Piątek equaliser.

SC Freiburg are in Bundesliga action again on Saturday, away to Hertha BSC on matchday 7 (15:30 CEST).

SC Freiburg recorded a deserved victory in their final game at the Dreisamstadion. Lukas Kübler, Lucas Höler and Vincenzo Grifo scored goals 997, 998 and 999 at the ground in a 3-0 win over FC Augsburg.

On Sunday, SC Freiburg will host FC Augsburg in the final game to be played at the Dreisamstadion (17:30 CEST).

Kevin Schade has been having one experience after another recently: first his Bundesliga debut, then his first start. The 19-year-old was promoted to the first team from the Under 23s along with five other youth players. Freiburg avoided defeat again at fellow high-flyers 1. FSV Mainz 05, in a game that lacked spark at times. Both teams defended well but created little in front of goal.
