SC Freiburg have begun preparations for the upcoming season, with the first team training session set to take place on Monday at 10:00 CEST.

The new training gear has arrived, the new match balls are ready to be put into action and the dressing room is ready to welcome back the team. Pre-season is set to start up again in Freiburg ahead of the 2022/23 Bundesliga and Europa League seasons.

The team will complete various performance and diagnostic tests on the weekend, with the first team training session set to take place at 10:00 CEST on Monday on the training ground at the Europa Park Stadion. New signing Matthias Ginter and academy player Robert Wagner will take part with their new teammates. Mark Flekken, Roland Sallai, Wooyeong Jeong, Ermedin Demirovic and Killiann Sildillia will join up with the team a week later, having been away on international duty after the DFB-Pokal final.

Fans are welcome to attend the session, although the club are requesting that they avoid asking for selfies and autographs in order to reduce the risk of infection for the team. Additional public training sessions will take place on Thursday and Sunday (both at 9:30 CEST).

SC will play their first pre-season friendly against SV Elversberg at the Dreisamstadion on Saturday, 2nd July (15:00 CEST). The match will feature two 45-minutes halves. Information on further pre-season friendlies, as well as about the official season opening at the Europa Park Stadion on 16th July, will be released during the course of the week.
