SC Freiburg is pleased to announce the extension of Manuel Gulde’s contract. The centre-back signed from Karlsruher SC in 2016, and has played 104 competitive games in a Freiburg shirt, scoring five goals.
In total, the 30-year-old has played 190 games in Germany’s top two divisions across his career, for SC, Karlsruhe, Paderborn and Hoffenheim.
“Manuel has put in some great performances in the last few years, and has become a pillar of our defensive unit through his defensive awareness and agility”, said sporting director Jochen Saier. “We’ve worked together for around five years now, and we are happy that Manuel will be able to continue to show his skills with us.”
Gulde himself said: “I am very satisfied with my time in Freiburg so far, and I feel great here. Even though there is real competition for places here, I’ve got my fair share of minutes. I would like to continue to take on this challenge, and I’m excited to be able to carry that on with SC.”
The club and the player have agreed to not disclose the details of the contract.
