The 22-year-old joined Freiburg's U19s from TSV 1860 München in 2017 and his good performances for the club's Regionalliga side earned him a place in the first-team's Bundesliga squad for the 2019/20 season. The midfielder has made a total of eleven top-flight appearances, with ten of them coming in the current campaign.

"Lino has got a decent number of appearances under his belt this season and has always been on the fringes of the team, which shows that he is on the right path," said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. "We can't guarantee Lino the kind of game time in centre midfield that is important at this stage in his development, however. That's why we're delighted that this loan to Nürnberg will give him the opportunity to get minutes at a high level."

The contractual details of the loan move are undisclosed.
