DFB-Pokal semi-final to be played on a Tuesday evening

The DFB have scheduled SC Freiburg’s DFB-Pokal semi-final away to Hamburger SV for Tuesday, 19th April.

Although the scheduling of fixtures can sometimes be like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, the planning of this year’s DFB-Pokal semi-final stage has been rather simple for the organisers. As the other two semi-finalists RB Leipzig and Union Berlin already have Sunday fixtures pencilled in for matchday 30 (the weekend following the semis), their match has been put in the Wednesday evening slot. This means that Freiburg’s match vs. Hamburger SV will take place on the Tuesday evening (19th April) at the Volksparkstadion (kick-off 20:45 CEST).
