SC Freiburg have extended Keven Schlotterbeck’s contract.
Schlotterbeck joined the SC reserves in 2017 from then sixth-tier side TSG Backnang. He made his Bundesliga debut in February 2019 and has since gone on to make 48 competitive appearances for the SC first team. Schlotterbeck was loaned to Union Berlin for the 2019/20 season, where he featured in 27 games.
“Keven’s strong left foot, his intelligent build-up play and his calmness all make him a reliable figure in our defence,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “We are pleased with our centre-back pairings. Keven, like everyone else, will have the chance to showcase his qualities on the pitch during the upcoming season and all the new challenges it will bring. We are looking forward to continuing to work together, and are very happy that he has extended his contract.”
Keven Schlotterbeck said, “With the exception of one year, I have wholeheartedly been at SC and will now continue my journey here. We have a lot we want to achieve in the upcoming season and I want to do my part to ensure that we remain successful.”
Details of the contract extension will remain undisclosed.
