Janik Haberer joined SCF from TSG Hoffenheim ahead of the 2016/17 season, and he spent last season on loan at VfL Bochum. The midfielder has made 169 appearances for Freiburg, scoring 13 times and registering 16 assists.

“We’d like to thank Janik for six successful years of hard work together,” said sporting director Jochen Saier. “Janik has decided to take on a new challenge for the coming season, and we wish him all the best with that. Until then, the focus of the both the player and the club will be on the two upcoming fixtures we have before the season ends.”
