In order to ensure smooth running of the final matchdays of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga seasons, two-stage quarantine measures are to be introduced. 

Exactly one week after the 4-0 victory against FC Schalke 04, SC Freiburg welcome TSG Hoffenheim to the Schwarzwald-Stadion on Saturday at 15:30 CEST.

Christian Günter has stepped up as captain and faced the music enough times when things weren’t going so well on the pitch. We were of course delighted, therefore, to catch up with him after a successful week.  

SC Freiburg celebrated a 4-0 win at home to FC Schalke 04 on matchday 29. Lucas Höler (7‘), Roland Sallai (22‘) and a brace from Christian Günter (50’, 74’) sealed the victory at the Schwarzwald-Stadion.

On Friday, the German Football League (DFL) decided to postpone Hertha BSC's next three Bundesliga games following positive coronavirus cases at the capital club. SC Freiburg's away game in Berlin originally schedule for 21st April is one of those matches affected.

Nicolas "Chicco" Höfler has had to miss two games recently: first he was kept out of action by a suspension before the birth of his fifth child led him to miss our most recent fixture.

SC Freiburg came home empty handed from Bielefeld following a 1-0 win in the matchday 28 opener on Friday evening (09.04). 

Bundesliga Matchday 28 sees SC Freiburg travel to face Arminia Bielefeld in what will be their second away game in two weeks. The Friday night fixture will begin at 20:30 CEST.

SC Freiburg suffered a 2-1 loss away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 27 of the Bundesliga.
