Junior Adamu arrived in Freiburg from RB Salzburg in July 2023 and went on to play 67 competitive games for SC, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. Adamu, who has won nine caps for Austria, spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, making six appearances for the Scottish champions. 

“Junior is a great guy, and we’ll all remember him very fondly,” commented SC sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “Although things didn’t quite work out on the pitch as we had all hoped, his open and infectious personality made a significant contribution to the team’s success. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
