First Team
04.04.2024

Eren Dinkçi will move from SV Werder Bremen to SC Freiburg ahead of next season. The attacker is currently on loan at 1. FC Heidenheim this season.

The Bremen-born Dinkçi joined SV Werder Bremen’s first-team squad as an 18-year-old and made his debut in the Bundesliga for the Green-Whites at the age of 19. He has made 50 competitive appearances for Werder in total. The 22-year-old moved to 1. FC Heidenheim on loan ahead of the current season. He has primarily played as a right winger there and has made 27 competitive appearances so far, scoring nine goals in the process. He has also provided five assists.

“Those in charge at Freiburg approached me pretty early on and made me feel good from the start. I already knew then that I wanted to go down this path,” Erin Dinkçi said. “I believe I’ve just got a flow and I’d like to take this with me to Freiburg. I’ve played here with Werder previously and things went well at the ground. I’m really looking forward to this atmosphere.”

Sporting director Klemens Hartenbach said: “Eren has got a really exciting and flexible profile. This is reflected in qualities such as pace and a good understanding of the game, as well as his shooting quality. We’ve known about him since his time with U19s at Werder and we now want to work together on turning him into an even more complete player. It’s actually his first Bundesliga season as a first-team regular, so there’s still real potential to be unlocked. We’re really pleased that Eren has chosen to sign for us and that we’re able to approach next season with him on board.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
