The second game between Freiburg players at the World Cup in Qatar saw Ghana and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh beat Wooyeong Jeong and South Korea.
After Ritsu Doan was on the scoresheet for Japan in their win over Germany (who had Matthias Ginter and Christian Günter on the bench) in the first game in Group E, two more SC players faced off today at the World Cup.
Wooyeong Jeong featured for the first time at a World Cup, starting for South Korea in their second game in Group H. Daniel-Kofi Kyereh began on the bench and saw his side take a 2-0 lead through Mohammed Salisu (24’) and Mohammed Kudus (34’).

South Korea coach Paulo Bento took Jeong off at half time. His side came from behind in the second half thanks to two headers from Gue-Sung Cho (58’, 61’). Kudus scored again to put the ‘Black Stars’ in front and secure a 3-2 win. Just like against Portugal, Kyereh came on in the closing stages.
Ghana are in a strong position now with four points going into their final group game against Uruguay, while South Korea are on the brink of elimination with just a single point to their name.
