Arriving & parking

Whether you’re arriving on public transport or taking a scenic bike ride or walk to reach the Dreisam, the Dreisamstadion makes it easy for you to travel in eco-friendly ways. With our park-and-ride system, even those travelling in their own cars can dodge the inner-city traffic.

Via bus or train

City train (VAG)

From Freiburg’s Hauptbahnhof (central station, Hbf) you can take the line 1 in the direction of Stadion or Littenweiler. The journey from Hbf to the “Römerhof” stop (this will be announced as “Stadion”) will take between 16 and 20 minutes. The “Römerhof” stop is around 5-10 minutes from the stadium by foot.

By bike

There are various cycle paths that will take you to the Dreisamstadion. At the stadium there are only a limited number of free bike racks.

Arriving by car

From the south (A5 Basel) / north (A5 Karlsruhe)

Leave the A5 Autobahn at the “Freiburg-Mitte” exit in the direction of “Ebnet / Littenweiler / Stadien”. Do not turn right in the B31 tunnel, stay to the left. You will reach the stadium after around 1.5km.

From Donaueschingen / Titisee-Neustadt (B31)

Leave the Bundesstraße B31 at the “Ebnet / Littenweiler / Stadien” exit, immediately before the Freiburg city tunnel. Stay to the right and follow the signs towards Stadion.

Parking

Under the current circumstances, during which home games are being played without spectators, parking spaces are reserved right behind the main stand on parking lot P1 for media representatives. Please let us know upon submission of your accreditation documents, and in due time, if you wish to make use of the parking facilities. Under ordinary circumstances, parking spaces for media representatives are next to the Ebnet Castle (Schloss Ebnet) on parking lot P3. Regular shuttle bus transport will be provided before kick-off and after full time for a speedy transfer to and from the ground.

Blocked roads on matchdays

Some of the roads around the Dreisamstadion will be blocked on matchdays. Schwarzwaldstraße is one such road, with plenty of traffic starting around three hours prior to kick-off. Alternative routes are Hansjakobstraße, which will take you out of the city via Kirnerstraße, or Heinrich-Heine-Straße if you are coming from Ebnet. On matchdays there is also a one-way rule on Kartäuserstraße, meaning that if you are leaving the city then you can only drive as far as Sandfangweg.
