SC Freiburg have reached the final of the DFB-Pokal for the first time in club history. However, SC haven’t enjoyed much luck in the competition in past years. Read on for an overview of our record in the Pokal.
SC fans will likely still remember the 2-1 defeat to Stuttgart in the semi-final on 17th April 2013, which knocked us out of the DFB-Pokal. It was Freiburg's first ever appearance in the semi-finals, having never reached the final before. In the last 10 seasons, in fact, SC had failed to make it past the second round on five occasions! They narrowly missed out on the semis in 2014/15, losing 1-0 in Wolfsburg in the quarterfinals after conceding a penalty.
