Bundesliga matchday 29 sees Freiburg take a trip to 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Sunday. Kick-off at the MEWA ARENA is scheduled for 19:30 CEST.

SCF defeated Celta Vigo 3-0 in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie. Vincenzo Grifo, Niklas Beste and Matthias Ginter all found the net for Freiburg.

The Europa League quarter-finals are here, meaning SC are back in action on the European stage. Celta Vigo stand between them and a place in the final four, with the Spanish side making the trip to the Breisgau for the first leg on Thursday evening (21:00 CEST).

After Johan Manzambi and Lucas Höler had fired the hosts into a 2-0 lead, the league leaders turned the game around with two goals in a ten-minute period of injury time. It had already been confirmed that all fixtures on matchday 34 would kick off simultaneously at 15:30 CEST on Saturday, 16th May. The German Football League (DFL) has now also confirmed the exact kick-off times for the remaining fixtures from matchday 31 to 33.

Igor Matanovic scored twice in the second period as Freiburg came back from 1-0 down at half time to win 2-1 at FC St. Pauli.

SC Freiburg defeated KRC Genk 5-1 in the second leg of their round-of-16 tie to prevail 5-2 on aggregate and reach the Europa League quarter-finals. Matthias Ginter, Igor Matanovic, Vincenzo Grifo, Yuito Suzuki and Maximilian Eggestein were all on target for SCF.
