SC Freiburg were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League’s round of 16 on Thursday night, losing 2-0 (3-0 on aggregate) to Italian record champions Juventus.

After a 1-0 loss in the first leg, SC now face Juventus on Thursday evening in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League last 16 clash at the Europa-Park Stadion.

Christian Streich, Patrick Baier, Florian Bruns and Julian Schuster have all extended their contracts with SC.

Thanks to an 89th-minute strike from Ritsu Doan, SC Freiburg beat TSG Hoffenheim in the Baden-Württemberg derby. Maxi Eggestein had given the home side the lead after just five minutes, before Angelo Stiller brought Hoffenheim level in the 49th minute.

SC Freiburg will close out the week at home against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Sunday (15:30 CET). 

SC Freiburg were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Juventus in Turin on Thursday night, in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie. Argentine World Cup winner Ángel Di María scored the only goal of the game after 53 minutes.

After having announced the timings for matchdays 26 to 29 last Friday, the DFL have now confirmed the dates and times for Bundesliga matchday 30 as well. 

Just like in the reverse fixture, SC Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach saw out a 0-0 draw on Matchday 23. It was SCF’s second draw in a row; they played out a 1-1 stalemate with Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.

The German Football League (DFL) have announced the schedule for matchdays 26 to 29.
