SC Freiburg will face SV Darmstadt 98 at home in the DFB-Pokal round of 16, following Sunday’s draw at the German Football Museum.
The draw took place the evening after Freiburg’s 0-0 Bundesliga draw away to Union Berlin and four days before the club’s next European fixture at OGC Nice. Sailor Felix van den Hövel pulled out a home tie against SV Darmstadt 98 for SC.
SC reached the last 16 with away victories over fourth-tier side Sportfreunde Lotte (2-0) and 2. Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Düsseldorf (3-1). Darmstadt, currently seventh in the second division, beat Regionalliga team VfB Lübeck 2-1 in the first round before defeating FC Schalke 04 4-0 last week.
The DFB-Pokal round of 16 will be played on 2nd and 3rd December, with exact kick-off times to be confirmed.
