SC Freiburg have agreed a contract extension with assistant coach Patrik Grolimund.
Patrik Grolimund has been part of the Freiburg coaching staff since the start of last season. The 45-year-old Swiss was previously a trainer and deputy leader of the UEFA Pro Licence course at the German Football Association, as well an assistant coach for the Germany women’s national team.
“Patrik has been a fantastic addition to our coaching staff, both in terms of his expertise and his personality,” said chief sporting officer Jochen Saier. “He’s only been with us for one year, but it already feels like much longer. We’re delighted that Patrik will continue to his meticulous work here.”
Patrik Grolimund said: “Extending my contract at SC Freiburg on my birthday is a like getting another present. I feel very much at home in the coaching setup and as part of this team. Our collaboration is one based on complete trust and 100 percent commitment from every individual. It’s incredibly motivating to be able to continue working in that atmosphere.”
The contract details are undisclosed.
