Noah Atubolu received the call on Monday afternoon to join up with the Germany squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Northern Ireland. With Oliver Baumann currently ill, SC's goalkeeper will arrive at the DFB's base in Herzogenaurauch on Monday night.

“We got home very late Sunday night after the game in Mönchengladbach, and so I took a nap after the morning training session – when I woke up and looked at my phone, I saw multiple missed calls from the national team’s goalkeeping coach Andreas Kronenberg and SC’s goalkeeping coach Michael Müller. They said the driver would be there any minute and I had to get going,” recalled Noah Atubolu when discussing the moment he was called up. “I’m so excited to join up with the national team and take it all in, as well as have the chance to learn a lot. It’s a huge honour for me to be a part of the Germany national squad.”
