Florian Müller extends contract at SC
SC Freiburg and goalkeeper Florian Müller have agreed to an extension of their time together
Florian Müller has been part of Freiburg’s goalkeeping group since the 2023/24 season and had previously been SC’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2020/21 campaign. The 28-year-old has so far made a total of 47 appearances for the club. In the current cup campaign, Müller has been in goal three times and saved two penalties in the quarter-final tie against Hertha BSC. The Saarland native has made 143 professional appearances to date for 1. FSV Mainz 05, VfB Stuttgart and SC Freiburg.
“First and foremost, Flo is a very good goalkeeper. When a player also brings a great character to the goalkeeping unit and the whole team in the way he does, it’s a pretty perfect situation,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “We’re very pleased to extend Flo’s contract, knowing that he’s somebody we can always rely upon.”
Florian Müller himself said: “We work very well together here as a team, without me losing sight of my personal goals and ambitions. I also feel really comfortable at the club and in the city. I want to continue doing my part to ensure that we’re successful as a team.”
All parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the contract.
