Anthony Jung has 109 Bundesliga appearances to his name across spells with Werder Bremen and FC Ingolstadt, while also featuring 94 times in the second division for Werder, RB Leipzig and FSV Frankfurt. Additionally, he gained experience of playing abroad during his four years with Bröndby IF in Denmark. All in all, the 33-year-old has more than 450 professional career games under his belt.

“Tony fills the gap in our squad following Manuel Gulde’s retirement. He played the majority of Werder’s matches over the course of the past season and brings a great deal of experience with him,” explained board member Jochen Saier. “Tony is good in the tackle and able to play in a variety of positions and systems with his left foot. His acquisition will also serve us well due to participating in multiple competitions.”

Freiburg have been steadily progressing over the last few years and pose as a good example of how to develop a club. I still possess great ambition and am really pleased to be here.”
