For a number of SC players, their campaign is far from over. Fans can find all the key dates regarding training and the first friendly matches below.

When one season draws to a close, another is already beginning to get underway.  While the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign is a good three months away, and the majority of our first team players headed off on their summer holidays following the final game of the season just gone against Eintracht Frankfurt, upcoming international fixtures mean the season will continue for some. Senior national team players are preparing for World Cup qualifying in June, while the European U21 Championship marks one of the footballing highlights of the summer, set to take place from 11th until 28th June.

SC head coach Julian Schuster leads his squad for the first training session of pre-season on Sunday, 6th July, at the Europa-Park Stadion. The opening friendly match then follows during that first week of training. As part of the 100-year-anniversary celebrations of SV Oberschopfheim, SC Freiburg are to take on SV Sandhausen in Oberschopfheim. Sandhausen suffered relegation from the German third-tier this season.

Freiburg’s summer training camp will once again take place in Schruns, Austria as has been the case for the past 18 years. The squad will work on laying the foundations for the upcoming campaign from 16th to 25th July in Montafon. During the training camp, SC will undertake a further friendly match, facing SCR Altach on 18th July (kick-off 17:00 CEST).

Additional friendly matches are currently being scheduled. The opening competitive fixture for SC in 2025/26 will arrive in the form of a DFB-Pokal first-round tie, to be played between 15th and 18th August. The draw is set to take place on 15th June. The beginning of the new Bundesliga season then follows a week after the DFB-Pokal gets going, with matchday one to be contested from 22nd to 24th August. The UEFA Europa League gets underway with clashes on 24th and 25th August.
