SC Freiburg has a new main and kit sponsor. The logo of well-known Freiburg-based company Lexware is set to adorn the men’s first-team kit from the start of the 2026/27 season.

Lexware has been a partner of SC Freiburg since 1999. Small contributions at the start have gradually expanded over the years, most recently with the company becoming an exclusive partner of the club and the men’s first-team sleeve sponsor in 2023/24. Lexware, which belongs to the Haufe Group, has also been the main sponsor of the Freiburg youth academy since the 2024/25 season.

For over 30 years, Lexware has been strongly committed to amateur sports in the local area, supporting more than 150 clubs. Alongside SC Freiburg, Lexware has supported various projects in recent years that improve grassroots sport in the region. These include the SC Freiburg football camps and talent scouting training sessions, as well as the “Füchsle-Camps” and “Füchsle-Tage” for children. The company is also involved in the club’s matchday mascot programme for Bundesliga home games, as well as the renovation of various sports facilities in and around Freiburg.

The Freiburg-based company’s software products aim to provide support and automated accounting software for its target market of approximately four million self-employed individuals in Germany, allowing them to concentrate on what matters most. Under the “Tell your Story” campaign, Lexware has been regularly profiling entrepreneurs, start-ups, freelancers and athletes since 2019, with the aim of creating a platform to inspire and empower others. Noah Atubolu, Christian Günter and Igor Matanovic all shared their stories, as did former SC player Nils Petersen.

As the new main sponsor of SC Freiburg, the Lexware brand will feature on the front of the men’s first-team and U23’s jerseys in all competitions. The company’s existing partnership with the club will continue alongside this. The new sponsorship deal includes comprehensive TV rights for stadium and matchday advertising, as well as on the club’s digital platforms. Lexware will also continue their sponsorship of the shirts worn by the children who accompany the players onto the pitch on Bundesliga matchdays. The company will continue their existing sponsorship of the Freiburg youth academy and kits worn by SC’s youth teams. Lexware are already co-sponsors of the women’s team and will now take over the sleeve sponsorship of the women’s jerseys.

SC Freiburg board member Oliver Leki said: “Lexware has been a reliable and strong partner since 1999. Their professionalism, successful development and Freiburg roots make them an excellent fit for us. Lexware has steadily expanded its partnership with SC Freiburg in recent years and have successfully developed their communication strategy with a clear vision and creative, inspiring content. I’m delighted to continue this partnership even further.”

Haufe Group CEO Birte Hackenjos commented: “Lexware is a strong brand within our group of companies and we are delighted it will now be visible on one of the biggest stages in the country. We share a common understanding of values with SC Freiburg. This partnership shows our close ties to the region that we have been actively shaping and developing for years.”

Lexware CEO Christian Steiger looked at things from an entrepreneurial perspective: “Over four million self-employed people in Germany do what they love every day. We take care of the paperwork for them. With this commitment, we have been able to expand our presence in a way that will make us more visible to many of those who follow the club week in and week out.”
