The 60th Bundesliga season is starting and SC Freiburg are set to begin their campaign away to TSG Hoffenheim at the preZero Arena on Sunday at 15:30 CEST.

SC Freiburg are through to the second round of the DFB-Pokal. SC won their away game at the Dreisamstadion against SV Oberachern 2-0, with goals from Christian Günter (60’) and Roland Sallai (77’).

The 2023/24 season kicks off at 15:30 CEST on Sunday, as SC face SV Oberachern at the Dreisamstadion in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

SC won 2-0 against Empoli in their last game before the start of the new season. Lucas Höler and Michael Gregoritsch got the goals for Freiburg. The two sides then played another 45 minutes afterwards, which was won 2-1 by the Italians – Manuel Gulde found the net for SC.

The second pre-season friendly against RC Strasbourg on Saturday afternoon also finished in a 2-2 draw, with Lukas Kübler (21’) and Merlin Röhl (26’) scoring for SC.

Following their training camp in Schruns, SC have played two friendlies against RC Strasbourg at the Europa-Park Stadion. The first friendly finished in a 2-2 draw, with Maximilian Breunig and Mika Baur scoring as Freiburg came back from a two-goal deficit.

The squad voted for the captain and team council on Sunday evening.

SC Freiburg suffered a 3-2 loss in a friendly against VfL Wolfsburg, played as part of their training camp in Austria. Freiburg’s took a 2-0 leading through goals from U23s players, Maximilian Breunig and Mika Baur, before Maximilian Philipp, Lukas Nmecha and Tiago Tomas turned the game around in Wolfsburg’s favour.

The international players have returned and the SCF squad have arrived in Schruns for their summer training camp (20-28th July).
