SC Freiburg were beaten 4-2 by Borussia Dortmund on Saturday afternoon. Lucas Höler and Chicco Höfler both scored for SC, though the latter was sent off in the second half.
SC overcame Bundesliga 2 side Karlsruher SC 1-0 in their friendly during the international break, with Vincenzo Grifo scoring a free kick in the 39th minute.
SC Freiburg suffered a 5-0 defeat away against VfB Stuttgart, and will go into the international break having collected six points from their first three Bundesliga games of the season.
The draw for this year’s Europa League was completed at lunchtime on Friday at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. SC Freiburg will play against West Ham United, Olympiacos and FK TSC Backa Topola in Group A.
SC Freiburg haven’t managed to start the season with three consecutive victories in their history in the Bundesliga – after their wins against Hoffenheim and Bremen they now have the chance to do just that on Saturday in Stuttgart (kick-off at 15:30 CEST).
