Atubolu will spend the next year on loan at fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, with the move becoming permanent if certain conditions are met. The 24-year-old goalkeeper came through SC’s academy and made his Bundesliga debut in the 2023/24 season. He has since made 125 competitive appearances for SC.

Chief sporting officer Jochen Saier said: “We’ve been through some very complicated weeks and months. The contract extension, which we agreed irrespective of how the situation developed, came out of the very open and constructive discussions we’ve had with Noah, particularly over the past few days, and gave us the flexibility to find a solution. We’re satisfied with structure of the deal we have reached with Eintracht Frankfurt.”
