Johan Manzambi joined the Sport-Club from Servette Geneva in January 2023, initially featuring for Freiburg’s U19s and U23s. Ahead of the 2024/25 season, the midfielder was promoted to the first-team squad and made his professional debut in September 2024, coming on in SC’s 3-0 win away at Heidenheim. In April 2025, Manzambi scored his first Bundesliga goal, finding the net in the 90th minute of a 2-1 away victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Since then, the 20-year-old has made 58 competitive appearances for Freiburg across the Bundesliga, UEFA Europa League and DFB-Pokal, scoring nine goals and providing eleven assists.

Manzambi made his senior debut for the Switzerland national team in June 2025 and has since gone on to make 16 appearances for the Nati. Three of his six goals for his country came at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
